About me
I am an Associate Professor at Rey Juan Carlos University in Madrid working on security and privacy in distributed systems (on leave). I am currently the Chief of the Scientific Unit at the Spanish Data Protection Authority (AEPD), promoting evidence- and foresight-based public policy making and also a former member of the Advisory Group of the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA). My main research interests are:
Cybersecurity and Privacy: IAAA mechanisms and identity management; remote attestation; adaptive, intelligent and context-aware security and privacy; new threats and vulnerabilities in cloud contexts, Internet of Things, Industry 4.0, 5G, Data Science&AI.
Parallel and Distributed Systems: Specific security and privacy challenges; performance engineering; load balancing, scheduling, allocation and provisioning and their relationship with cybersecurity and privacy; reconfigurable computing.
Domains and Applications with security/privacy/high performance requirements: Future Internet (Fog, Edge, IoT, 5G); distributed simulation and Information Systems; Industrial Applications, SCM and Logistics; Information Security Management (ISM) and Critical Information Infrastructures Protection (CIIP).
